Description

Cefoperazone + Sulbactam Injection

Cefoperazone+ Sulbactam is one of the categories of medicines known as antibiotics for the treatment of many bacterial infections like infection of the respiratory tract (lungs), infection of urine, infection of blood, inflammation of the spinal cord and brain, gonorrhea, infection of skin, abdominal infection, bone infection, and infection of joints. Bacterial infections occur because of the growth of harmful bacteria within or on the body. Harmful or infective bacteria can infect and grow rapidly in your body. Harmful bacteria are responsible for producing chemicals called toxins that can harm tissue and cause illness. Cefoperazone+ Sulbactam is not effective against virus infections, such as cold and flu.

Cefoperazone+  Sulbactam is a drug combination of two antibiotics, i.e., Cefoperazone and sulbactam. Cefoperazone inhibits the development of bacterial cell covering, which is essential for their survival. Thus, kills the bacteria. Sulbactam, on the other hand, inhibits bacterial resistance and increases the activity of Cefoperazone against the bacteria. Together, Cefoperazone+ sulbactam treats bacterial infections.

Benefits:

  • Effective against a broad spectrum of both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as some resistant strains.
  • Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor, which increases the effectiveness of Cefoperazone against resistant bacteria.
  • Commonly administered to avoid infection in patients before surgery.
  • The combination serves to counteract bacterial resistance and thus is an excellent choice in the treatment of complex infections.
  • Helpful to patients with compromised immune systems, offering effective forms of treatment.

Uses:

  • Cefoperazone+ Sulbactam is applied for the treatment of bacterial infections.
  • It works by inhibiting the production of the protective bacterial covering needed for bacterial survival.
  • Sulbactam is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that decreases resistance and increases the antibacterial activity of Cefoperazone.
