Description

Ibuprofen 100 mg and Paracetamol 162.5 mg Suspension

Ibuprofen + paracetamol is indicated for relief from muscle pain, arthritis pain, dysmenorrhea (painful menstruation or menstrual cramps), toothache, and fever reduction. Pain can be acute (temporary) or chronic (long-standing). Acute pain, for a brief period, results from injury to the muscle, bone, or other organ tissues. On the other hand, long-term pain occurs for an extended period and is due to pathologies such as nerve damage, osteoarthritis, etc. Apart from this, it is also effective for dental pain, which may result from damage to the tooth nerve, infection, decay, extraction, or injury.

Ibuprofen + paracetamol contains two drugs, i.e., Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Ibuprofen has an analgesic and anti-inflammatory action for the alleviation of mild to moderate pain. Ibuprofen exerts its action by inhibiting the effect of a chemical called prostaglandin, which is the cause of pain and inflammation in our body. Paracetamol is a weak analgesic and antipyretic (fever reducer). It reduces the raised body temperature and the mild pain through the inhibition of the production of a chemical messenger (prostaglandin) and the stimulation of heat loss (by sweating), which assists in resetting the hypothalamic thermostat. The two drugs combined assist in alleviating mild to moderate pain for a shorter period.

Benefits:

  • Ibuprofen + paracetamol is taken primarily to treat pain and ease pain and discomfort due to conditions such as toothache, arthritis, menstrual cramps, and other forms of short-term pain.
  • It cures pain by inhibiting the chemical transmitter (prostaglandin) in the brain that causes pain.
  • Ibuprofen inhibits the action of a chemical called prostaglandin, which causes pain and inflammation in our bodies.
  • Paracetamol reduces raised body temperature and mild pain by preventing prostaglandin synthesis through inducing heat loss (sweating) that resets the hypothalamic thermostat.

Uses:

  • Ibuprofen + paracetamol is occasionally part of chronic pain management regimens, especially for osteoarthritis or chronic back pain, under the direction of a medical professional.
  • Ibuprofen + paracetamol is frequently prescribed to relieve pain and discomfort after surgical interventions, facilitating recovery.
  • Ibuprofen + paracetamol is commonly taken to relieve mild to moderate pain, including headaches, toothaches, menstrual cramps, and muscular aches.
